expression through musicMany people think of music as simple entertainment. Something to do when you’re bored. They might enjoy music, but they gain no special meaning from it. Then there are some people, like me, who find so much more than just entertainment in the music they partake in. For me, music is almost like an ever-changing force. When listening to a song, the pitch of the artist’s voice and the tone of the instruments can make you feel what the artist felt when he wrote it, whether you can relate to what he is feeling or not. Music can help you express the feelings that just can’t be put into words. blueListening to a familiar song is like welcoming back an old friend, while listening to a new one sparks a feeling in you like an electric charge that can remain for hours after the song has ended. It’s the artist’s way of telling you that you’re not alone. It’s a release of all the energy that you’re keeping bottled up inside you, whether that energy is positive, negative, somewhere in the middle, or some insane combination of them both. It can cool the rage inside you or stoke the flame until it burns too hot to approach. It can warm the chill you feel, or freeze it over completely. Whether you’re happy, sad, angry or any other emotion you can think of, music can either enhance that feeling, or reverse it. Music can do so many amazing things. All you have to do is listen and feel it.
